St. Just Cottages
Renowned for being the first and last town in England, St. Just has a charm all of its own. It was once reliant on mining and was home to the mine workers. Nowadays it has become a retreat for artists and craftspeople and has a small selection of pubs, shops and cafes selling a variety of goods. Being close to the sea, it also has a history steeped in smuggling and fishing. Nearby Botallack has the farmhouse of "Nanpara" home to Ross Poldark in the Winston Graham, Poldark series. The green in the centre of the village was where the miracle plays were performed in medieval times.
Nearby is St Ives, home to the Tate Gallery and some truly beautiful beaches plus a whole host of shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.
