Pendeen Hayloft is an exquisitely finished cosy, romantic bolthole for couples searching for an idyllic escape in Cornwall. Located in the small hamlet of Pothole, near the village of Sticker, it boasts lush green countryside views, original exposed stone walls in the hallway and master bedroom and your very own custom country kitchen. You will be able to spot the neighbouring stud farms Welsh and Connemara ponies in the surrounding fields and enjoy the total piece and quiet whilst you dine alfresco, or enjoy a morning coffee, in your own private kitchen garden. The open plan kitchen/diner also offers guests a great place to relax, with a cosy lounge upstairs to also enjoy.
Its central location makes both North and South coastlines easily accessible; the South with its long sandy beaches, historic ports, secluded creeks and the Eden Project, and the North with its dramatic cliffs, quiet coves, grand country houses and historic market towns. There is a fabulous local pub with great food 2 miles away and plenty of other restaurants to try locally.
The village of Sticker, which has its own traditional pub and post office stores, is situated 3 miles from St Austell and less than a 15 minute drive to the coast and beaches of the Cornish Riviera. A short drive will take you to the quaint fishing port of Mevagissey with its range of gift shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. You can also catch a ferry to Fowey or take a fishing trip from the harbour. Be sure to pay a visit to the famous Eden Project and Charlestown - featured in the Poldark series - whilst you are here.

St Austell is located near a stretch of coastline that is often referred to as the Cornish Riviera. The South coast of Cornwall is generally more sheltered than the wild and windswept North, and there are some excellent beaches in this area. As well as Carlyon Bay, there is also Pentewan Sands, further south, and Par beach (which is dog-friendly all year round) to the north-west. The area is very handy for both the Eden Project (excellent for families with its interactive and educational displays) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, rediscovered some 25 years ago and now restored to their former glory. The Lost Gardens are another family-friendly attraction, with a cafe, picnic area and lots of animals to see, and they also welcome dogs on leads. Carlyon Bay nestles in between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is also close to Charlestown, a historic port which has often been used as a location for filming several TV dramas including the recent adaptation of Poldark. Venture East along the coast and you will find the towns of Looe, Polperro and Fowey, and if you head West you can visit Mevagissey. A little way inland, St Austell has plenty of shops, pubs and a cinema complex.
We have visited Cornwall for many years but his is one of the best places we have stayed!! Lovely character cottage, great decor and well equipped. The information folder was very informative and the welcome pack was very appreciated. Great hosts! Thank you for a fabulous stay! Jodi and Dave - 16th August 2019
The owners are very nice and friendly and very service minded. Mr Peter van Doorn - 20th June 2019
Many thanks Terry and Lesley for the lovely stay and welcome pack- just what you need after a long journey! We've had a great week in this beautiful cottage, what a hidden gem! The weather was amazing so we visited lots of beaches, made use of the garden and barbecue. We'll definitely be recommending Pendeen Hayloft to our friends. Property was exactly as described, but what made it extra special was the little touches provided by the owners. On arrival, a traditional cream tea and a bottle of Prosecco was waiting for us as well as tea, coffee and a little carton of milk so no need to dash to the shop. The first evening the owners lit tea lights in lanterns leading to the front door. All very sweet and thoughtful. Very peaceful location but very easy access to Mevagissey and Fowey. Would ‘t hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay again.Emma - 28th May 2019
A brilliant breakaway for peace and quiet.jill pearson - 19th May 2019
Thank you for the Hayloft, out of the way, but not far away! The welcome pack was very appreciated. The local creatures made us very welcome, they are great. Upon recommendation we too visited the Polgooth Inn, and our message to others is you will not be dissapointed! Loads of room and the most excellent hosts!Janet - 18th May 2019
The minute you walk in til the minute you leave, you feel totally at home. Brilliant location. Blissfully quiet but only short drive to visit the area. Totally relaxing experience.Jill - 16th May 2019
A lovely small and slightly quirky property which we loved. The location is ideal for heading to the North or South Cornwall coast. We had our dog with us and the hosts told us about the great dog walking area in the village that became a firm favourite with us and our dog. Mr & Mrs Andrew Swinbank - 28th April 2019
Really lovely property, The Hosts were very friendly too!Mr Kieran Jones - 22nd October 2018
