Set on the hillside, overlooking Pentewan Valley and the surrounding countryside, Edgehill has been a family home for 20 years, and is now available to rent as your holiday home. The house enjoys spectacular views and is set in a beautiful garden laid to lawn and terracing planted with shrubs and flowers. There are several areas in sun or shade to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a Cornish garden, along with songbirds in the surrounding trees. The garden is a haven to escape the bustle of life. The sunsets over the hills opposite add to the spectacular setting.
The kitchen is equipped with modern units, a range cooker with fan oven and another electric oven and grill. The hob is gas. Walk in larder, containing a large fridge/freezer and shelving for food. To the rear of the dining room is a small snug complete with an iPod docking station and easy chair, perfect for watching the chef at work! The dining area overlooks the valley and bay and has seating for eight. There is a utility room with butler sink and a separate shower room which is accessible from the garden, making it perfect after a day at the beach.
The spacious living room is to the right of the hall and stairway and is comfortably furnished with an L-shaped sofa and a woodburner. Large Smart TV with Blu-Ray player and Freeview. The WiFi is superfast broadband with BT hub (60Mb!). The living room has lovely views of the garden and over the valley down to Pentewan Sands.
Upstairs in the loft is a king-sized bed with en-suite shower room. There is a small dressing area at the foot of the stairway leading to the 2nd floor. The bedrooms on the first floor are a king, twin and single. The king and twin beds are at the front of the house and enjoy dual aspect views over the garden and valley below. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Outside there is a large garden and a lovely brick and slate open-sided pavilion with table and chairs and a wood-fired oven, perfect for roasting meat and pizzas. Additional outside dining facilities on the front terrace and a traditional BBQ. The driveway has plenty of parking with steps down to the house and there are also steps leading down to the coastal path, the village and the beach.
Autumn, Winter and Spring breaks.
The house is warm and cosy with CH and the log stove, the changing seasons all have something to offer with the colours of autumn, bracing winter walks, springtime with an abundance of birds, tree blossom and bluebells. Many of the local places to visit including Mevagissey, Charlestown, Fowey, the Eden project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and National trust properties are all less busy than in the main season. Pentewan village itself has a lovely tea room, a homely local pub with good food and various themed evenings such as quiz night and music.
Christmas and New Year are quite special with lights and an Xmas tree, and an evening of carols, in the square. The pub is vibrant with special seasonal events.

Pentewan has a pub, a couple of cafes, beach shop selling ice creams and pasties and a garage that stocks daily goods, such as milk, drinks, bread, and fresh local produce. Ocean Sports provide watersports facilities, as do Cornwall Watersports, who are located on the beach. Bike hire is available from Pentewan Valley Cycle Hire.
Edgehill is located right on the Coastal Path, and so is wonderfully positioned to enjoy long walks in the countryside. There is a footpath which leads directly down to the beach. Set in "an area of outstanding natural beauty," this part of Cornwall is a conservation area and the start of the Roseland peninsula. The coast itself is often referred to as the Cornish Riviera. For more information on Pentewan follow the link. The Eden Project is 20 min drive and you could walk or cycle the 2 miles to the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

A lovely relaxing week spent at Edgehill. The house was ideal for 5 of us and we all appreciated having our own space. The house was immaculately clean and the kitchen really couldn’t be faulted. An abundance of utensils, non-stick pans that are non-stick! A superb cooker, a dishwasher that does a great job…we only wish we had the weather to enjoy the pizza oven. Everyone enjoyed the supersoft bed linen. Pentewan beach was great when the sun shone and our children enjoyed kayaking….Pentewan Sands is the perfect place to recharge and Edgehill is a delightful property to make the most of this special part of CornwallMr David James - 29th July 2017
Back again…Once again a beautiful clean house awaited us….the ‘big boys’ got a chance to do the manly cooking-BBQ and pizza oven….4 year old Alfred got great joy from both the beach and the garden. We would particularly like to commend the cleaning as the place was immaculate on arrival. We like to give credit when it's due, so please would you pass on our thanks to all concernedThe North Family
A lovely house in a very special place, away from crowds but with so many wonderful places easily accessible. We were blessed with wonderful weather for trips to Heligan, Eden Project, Fowey, but especially loved Restormel and Lostwithiel - the Trewithien restaurant is superb. The house has everything we could possible need, and much more. The birds were endlessly entertaining ... don't miss the dolphins following the wake of the Mevagissey/Fowey ferry - wonderful! Thank you. I think we'll be back. The Gunans, Derbyshire/London
The WOW factor Before we entered the house, we were really impressed with the terraced garden. It is wonderful with many places to sit and admire the green hills surrounding the property and the sea views. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We entered the house and it was just perfect. It has everything you need to have a fantastic time. The kitchen was very well equipped with new saucepans and cooking utensils. The beds were comfortable and the showers were powerful. Everything worked well and we had no problems. The house was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed our week very much. We wished we could have stayed all summer.Review From The First Guest Jasmine
Edgehill is certainly a very special house. The beautiful garden across various levels is lovely and we appreciated many hours enjoying the sunshine, sounds and scenery. An evening meal outside, whether on the patio, or the glass table area is a must. The house is truly gorgeous and we enjoyed discovering all the various rooms, bathrooms (all beautifully decorated) and of course, the spectacular views.Ian, Linda, Rob and Harry
Walking the south-west coastal path starting from the wrong end of our home in Dorset. We are doing the 630 mile length in weekly sessions over a number of years whilst staying in holiday homes along the way.Rachel, Bob, Sandy
As soon as we stepped out of the car we were all impressed by the house, garden and views. The house was spotless, very cosy and welcoming with lovely touches throughout. This was a wonderful family holiday made complete because of the wonderful house and the surroundings. We enjoyed the garden very much and have great memories of our time here.Paula, Arthur, Noah, Grace and Henry Zukowski.
What a wonderful place. We have really enjoyed our stay at Edgehill. The house is really lovely, very homely and comfortable. The views are stunning and there is much to explore. Really impressed with how well equipped it is. We managed to fit in some coastal walking - one day we walked to Gorran Haven and back (13 miles). Can definitely recommend if you enjoy a walk. The local pub is also fab, with great food and cosy atmosphere.Elaine and Paul, Liz and Matt, Telford
We have had a wonderful week. Edgehill is lovely and has everything you need. We've been to Meavgissey, Padstow, Polperro, Looe, Lands End and Gorran Haven. We will be hightly recommending Edgehill to friends and family. It's a great base. The extra outside area is a great touch.Steve, Marie, Jean, Ant, Dec, Danielle and Jack
A fabulous warm, welcoming holiday home when we arrived. When the sun was shining the beaches here and at Newquay were fab for having fun and surfing. The walk over the hills and the coastal path was one adventure. We had a great time! Kids loved it.Stuart, Claire, Scott and Lucy
This is our second visit to this most beautiful house and the wonderful garden. We had a fantastic time here. The house is so welcoming, so clean and had everything we needed. We all felt relaxed and happy. The sun was shining and so we all loved sitting in the garden looking over to the fields. We enjoyed some good walks and saw so many bluebells and primroses. Since our last visit we discovered we had ancestors who actually lived in the Terrace near the church so we found that interesting. This is such a lovely house so thank you for making it so comfortable for a perfect holiday. Next time we hope to stay for two weeks but wish we could stay all summer!Jasmine, Michael, Andrew, Sonia, Mathew, Michael Junior Staneland
