St Michaels Mount- 8 miles

Astonishing medieval castle and monastery on top of a rocky Island accessed by a causeway at low tide or a short boat trip. 

You can take your picnic onto the island but it's probably best to enjoy it from the beach at Marazion looking at the view before making the trip.
