Porthleven Beach

Dog Friendly

Dogs are only banned in the summer for the first 400m of beach - the remaining miles can be enjoyed with your pet all year round.

Porthleven Beach

"Complete panoramic views of Mount's Bay"

Right on your doorstep so you can pop back to your cottage if you need to and one of the best locations in Cornwall.  Never crowded, and the rocky outcrops and cliff give shelter from all sorts of wind directions.

Watch the kids playing in the rock pools or fishing off of the pier whilst you make yourself comfortable.  Surfing is particularly good when there's a ground swell and the wind has some north in it.  Around high tide, a wave often forms against the pier even when there's nothing along the beach.

On the opposite side of the harbour is Porthleven's famous point break sometimes known as 'The Beast'.

Definitely for advanced surfers, this is one of the best waves in Britain and a heavy ground swell with offshore wind can see it rise to 12-15 feet, curling perfectly.
