The owners of the Kota restaurant, Jude and Jane opened Kota Kai Bar and Kitchen in October 2011 due to a demand from their customers and friends for a relaxed family venue in the village.

With Kota Kai occuping the whole of the top floor of Celtic House customers benefit from the unbeatable views across Porthleven harbour and beyond.

Diners at the top of the restaurant have the option of watching their food being prepared since the kitchen at Kota Kai is open.

Jude and Jane have a four year old themselves, so they understand the need for somewhere to go for a coffee, snack, glass of wine or full meal where the kids can also enjoy themselves ­ allowing the parents to properly relax!

But Kai is not just for families ­ the lounge/Film room is a wonderful room in which to relax on a comfortable sofa with a cocktail, wine or beer, with ‘Mini Kai’ to snack on, as is the skittle room with its old fashioned wooden skittles, and lovely lounge seating.
 

Jude and Jane will continue to run their highly acclaimed, more intimate restaurant, Kota, from mid March 2012 after a small revamp.
