About the South Coast
For ease of description we say that any of our properties not in Sennen, Mousehole, Marazion and Porthleven are located on the South Coast. This means that South Coast properties extend from east of Porthleven to Mevagissey and includes property on the Lizard Peninsula, Falmouth and Portmellon.
Falmouth is a working port and harbour and home to the National Maritime Museum. Pendennis Castle stands atop the end of the peninsula, next to the fabulous Ships and Castles Leisure Pool, a very popular destination for children. A promenade extends along the sea front with a sandy beach and cafe in front of the Princess Pavilion. The town itself has a lively high street filled with shops, cafes and restaurants. The area next to the Maritime Museum has been extensively developed and contains a range of galleries, shops and restaurants, including Rick's Fish and Chips. There's plenty to see - why not a sample a cornish pasty or ice cream as you explore.
Why visit Falmouth?
Portmellon lies west of Mevagissey, about 6 miles from St. Austell and has a small sandy cove. There is a pub next to the beach. Portmellon is Mevagissey's quieter sister, but all the action is only a 10 minute walk away.
